Blog post coming at you super late today, thanks to a rough week of school, no sleep (that I can’t even blame Chase for), and a baby who just wants to be held.

I just wanted to quickly pop in and do an update on my goals for this year. I think it’s important to to continually evaluate progress towards goals in order to stay committed. I’m planning to hold myself accountable by checking in with you all once a month. Anyone want to join me?

I shared my goals for 2018 in this post. Let’s check how it’s going.

Limit fast food to once a week.

To make this goal more achievable, considering how often we were eating fast food, I started with a smaller goal of limiting fast food to twice a week. So far Ryan and I have done pretty well. We’ve been using a meal planning service that helps us plan meals through the weekend, one of our worst times for eating out. Plus Ryan’s been cooking more; he doesn’t dislike cooking as much as I do and doesn’t make as many excuses to not make the meals we have planned.

Eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day.

I started with the goal of two fruits and two vegetables a day and am still struggling with this. I’m going to keep working on it and will hopefully have a better report next month.

Less screen time/social media.

I turned off notifications for Facebook and Instagram and am amazed at the difference this simple change has made.

Grow blog.

How’s my big, scary goal going? Well, it started off really well-I’ve been posting consistently, shared on Facebook, and finally updated the name. Then I was hit with a huge wave of self-doubt that basically stopped me in my  blogging tracks. I don’t know why I’m so self-conscious about having a blog. I know I need to get over it if I want this to go anywhere.

So some goals are going better than others; here’s to hoping February leads to more success!

How are you doing with your 2018 goals?

I just started my blog last week too as a way to keep me accountable to things. It was a huge struggle for me as I like to keep my life private. I wanted to start it in Jan but had so much self doubt. I finally made it and decided to commit to just a year of daily blogging. If at the end, it didn’t enrich my life more, then I can move on. You’ve got this girl! Keep it up!
